In our latest Annual Report to Congress, the First Responder Network Authority (FirstNet Authority) outlines the significant progress made in fiscal year (FY) 2018 to deliver on Congress’s vision of creating a truly nationwide, interoperable broadband public safety network.  It was a landmark year for public safety, as the FirstNet network deployment began ahead of schedule following the decisions of all U.S. states and territories and the District of Columbia to participate in the deployment of the nationwide public safety broadband network.

At the PSAC Tribal Working Group’s (TWG) semi-annual in-person meeting, the FirstNet Authority updated TWG delegates on FirstNet’s latest developments, and tribal leaders discussed their network needs and shared real-world FirstNet use cases in tribal communities.

Members of the FirstNet Board’s Technology and Public Safety Advocacy Committees visited the Georgia Cyber Center in Augusta, GA to learn more about the evolving cyber threat landscape and the center’s focus on promoting and fostering innovation and technical collaboration.

For the sixth consecutive year, the First Responder Network Authority (FirstNet Authority) has received an unmodified, or “clean,” audit opinion on its financial statements.

At the Texas A&M University Internet2 Technology Evaluation Center’s 2019 Winter Institute Workshop and Exercise, first responders trained on how to respond during an earthquake. FirstNet was used to enhance operational communications during a simulated natural disaster.
